I Golden Globe sono solitamente considerati l’anticipazione degli Oscar. A darsi letteralmente battaglia per i premi sono stati principalmente due film: Una battaglia dopo l’altra, la commedia (in verità un dramma, ma sui generi c’è sempre grande dissenso) su un gruppo di rivoluzionari impegnati nella difesa di immigrati di Paul Thomas Anderson, che vince come miglior film commedia ma si porta a casa anche gli ulteriori premi per la regia, la sceneggiatura e la miglior attrice non protagonista Teyana Taylor. La seconda opera (nelle sale italiane a partire da giovedì 5 febbraio 2026 grazie a Universal Pictures) è Hamnet – Nel nome del figlio di Chloé Zhao, un appassionato e intimo racconto di Shakespeare colpito dalla tragica morte del figlio, visto attraverso gli occhi della moglie Agnes. Hamnet si aggiudica i premi come miglior film drammatico e quello per la miglior attrice a Jessie Buckley impeccabile nel ruolo di Agnes.
Fra gli altri premi ad attori trionfa Timothée Chalamet per la sua interpretazione in Marty Supreme (in uscita presto anche in Italia, il 22 gennaio per la I Wonder Pictures) mentre Wagner Moura è stato premiato come miglior attore drammatico per O agente segreto (L’Agente Segreto), che si aggiudica anche il premio per il miglior film internazionale; infine Rose Byrne vince come miglior attrice in una commedia per If I had legs I’d kick you, interpretando la madre di una bambina affetta da un disturbo alimentare.
La serie televisiva più premiata è, senza grandi sorprese, la miniserie Adolescence. La produzione Netflix girata in un unico piano sequenza ed entrata nel dibattito pubblico per il suo racconto di un adolescente che diventa misogino e violento. E riceve addirittura quattro Golden Globe (miglior miniserie, migliori attori Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper ed Erin Doherty). Come miglior serie comedy, vince invece The Studio, che porta in scena una caricatura di Hollywood, mentre come miglior serie drammatica con il suo racconto claustrofobico di un ospedale al collasso è stata premiata The Pitt.
